En Madrid trabajé sobre el urbanismo defensivo y la hostilidad del entorno cotidiano.
Elegí el area de Azca, centro comercial y de negocios donde conviven ejecutivos, turistas y gente sin hogar que acomoda sus enseres entre el hormigón.
Buscaba a las personas que habían elegido esa zona para practicar Parkour, una disciplina que tiene como objetivo moverse de un punto a otro en la ciudad de la manera más útil y eficiente posible, unicamente con la ayuda del cuerpo. Los “traceurs” convierten el arido mobiliario urbano en elementos que juegan a su favor. Se mueven libremente evitando los caminos trazados.

Una vez contacté con los traceurs más veteranos, les acompañé durante dos semanas.

In Madrid, I worked about defensive urbanism and hostil everyday environment. I chose the Azca area, a commercial and business center where executives, tourists and homeless people coexist who arrange their belongings among the concrete. I contact with the people who had chosen this area to practice Parkour, a discipline that aims to move from one point to another in the city in the most useful and efficient way possible, only with the help of the body. The «traceurs» turn dry street furnitures into elements that play in their favor. They move freely avoiding the traced paths.

Once I contacted the most experienced ‘traceurs’, I accompanied them for two weeks.
